Dear ISSS members and friends,

This is to update all members about the forthcoming 49th Annual Meeting of ISSS in Cancun next July.

We are very excited about the five keynote speakers who have agreed to speak to us in each of the morning sessions, allowing time for real dialogue and sharing of ideas:

* The lecture by Russ Ackoff “Why most organizations do not use systems thinking”
* The confluence of science and systems of Humberto Maturana
* The view of complexity of Tim Allen
* The approach from technology of Jim Spohrer (Director in IBM Research)
* The all-embracing systemic perspective of Mike Jackson

We are also very excited about the opportunities of group discussions around papers presented by SIG members, mostly following the interactive model of the Laszlos and David Ing, as well as around special themes or projects, such as Badillo Piña’s and Nacho Peon’s Syntegrity / IM session proposal, Aleco Christakis’ presentation of Human Science (in line with the Conference Theme), the meeting on The future of ISSS with inputs by Charles François, Debora Hammond and Enrique Herrscher, the update of the Latin American Agora and the ALAS project, and the re-launching of the Youth Group chaired by Nicholas Magliocca.

We are now concerned with approaching deadlines with the conference site. Therefore your urgent response is requested. If you have not already registered for the conference, please do so immediately, if at all possible. Because of arrangements for hotel accommodations and meeting rooms, we need to have as accurate a count as possible of participants.

We also recommend that you make your reservations at the Conference Hotel right away, to take advantage of the early registration discount.

If you have not yet submitted your abstract as a presenter, there's still time.

Information about the conference, including registration forms, can be found through [www.isss.org]

We look forward to hearing from you. Please contact: mailto:isssoffice@dsl.pipex.com with your registration, and any questions.
